Chris,

Great article, clever, well expressed and right on the money. I watched quite a few episodes of the renovators and I'd add one more observation to your excellent list:

Don't be afraid to try something new: Many of the renovators tried their hand at tiling, gyprocking or deck building for the first time and were amazed at what they achieved.

Similarly in small business land, with a little guidance and some moral fortitude, blogging, seo optimisation, building an amazing website all become achievable and even enjoyable tasks.

Very worthwhile read Chris.

All so true Chris - what Gold it would be to get the feedback from clients with the problem you (I!) can solve that DON'T respond to the flyer or whatever tactic and to find out WHY they didn't as there are so many variables to consider!

Thank you Chris for your post, this is much appreciated. After seeing you and reading your article, I now also realise that most small business owners DON'T get their branding right - or have no branding at all!

I'll be recommending my network of business owners who falls in this category to speak to you to help them out.

Thanks.
