Background

The Toy and Game Expo was the first event of it's kind in Sydney and the first large scale event attempted by the event owners.  With limited marketing expertise, the event owners engaged us to help them assess the viability of the event, and develop a marketing plan to help launch it in the Sydney market.

What did we do?

We facilitated a full-day marketing workshop where we unpacked the event concept and developed a clear picture of the client wanted the event to be. We reviewed everything from the event name, branding, target market to potential exhibitors and used the insights to develop a marketing plan to launch the event.

When the marketing plan was approved, we managed the implementation of all marketing activities including appointing and working with a PR agency, radio and online advertising for the event period.

What was the result?

The Toy and Game Expo was attended by over 6000 people and was a finalist in the Best New Event category at the Australian Event Awards.

Chris provided marketing expertise and support to the development of the Toy and Game Expo - a public event bringing the fun of toys and games to families. Crucial to the success of running this first for Australia was the marketing plan. Chris developed a comprehensive and detailed plan that provided an excellent basis to attract the public to the Expo. He also proved adept at supervising the successful implementation of the plan. Indeed, the expo was very successful with over 6000 people attending the event and event rewarded as a Finalist in the Best New Event category at the Australian Event Awards. I look forward to working with Chris for future versions of the Expo and I delighted to recommend him to anyone looking for a practical, personable person to handle their marketing.
